Since 1997, the VH1 Save The Music Foundation has provided grants of new musical instruments to forty-five schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District, totaling 1.15 million dollars. Even amidst these difficult economic times, Buchanan Children’s Charities has demonstrated their commitment to arts education by raising much-needed funds to benefit the VH1 Save The Music Foundation and their work to restore instrumental music education programs in U.S. public elementary and middle schools. To date, Buchanan Children’s Charities has donated over two million dollars to various children’s charities, and on October 20th, executives from the organization were able to see their donation in action when they visited the 32nd Street/USC Magnet School for the Visual & Performing Arts in Los Angeles, a program they helped to restore. Executives from both companies participated in a demonstration lesson and saw first-hand how their support continues to affect the lives of students.

“We are thrilled with the success of the VH1 Save The Music Foundation’s partnership with Buchanan Children’s Charities,” said Foundation Executive Director Paul Cothran. “With their help, we have been able to bring greater awareness to the importance of a musical education in a child’s life, and ensure that additional children have access to the benefits of music study. Their commitment to arts education during even these deeply challenging economic times is truly inspiring.”

“Buchanan is proud to support the VH1 Save The Music Foundation in their efforts to revive school music programs. I am a firm believer that music education leads children in the right direction and positively influences their cognitive development. Witnessing the children passionately play their instruments on Tuesday reaffirmed that our donations make a very significant difference in their lives,” said Robert Brunswick, President and CEO of Buchanan Street Partners.
